East Kalimantan
East Kalimantan (Indonesian: About this sound Kalimantan
Timur), is a province of Indonesia. Its territory comprises the eastern portion
of Borneo. Its capital is Samarinda. East Kalimantan has a total
area of 129,066.64 km2.

There are
some interesting places to visit in East Kalimantan, such as Manggar Besar,
Tanjung Isuy, Tanah Grogot, Tanah Merah.
Tanah Grogot
Traditional Dance
Tari Gong is a dance that is played using a musical
instrument gong. This dance itself illustrates the softness of a girl, who
writhed like a piece of rice. Body and hand movements are slow and gentle and
the dominance of a bird feather in her clothing style is a characteristic that
we can see at this dance.
Traditional House
Rumah Lamin is a traditional house of Dayak, especially
those in East Kalimantan. The hallmark of this house is shaped stage with a
height of up to 3 meters. The room in the house is divided into two parts,
which extends in the front and back. The front side is a room open to receive
guests and family gathering place. The back is divided into large rooms, where one
room occupied by five families.
Traditional Weapon
Mandau is the traditional weapon of East Kalimantan. It is
a kind of machete and long-shaped, made of materials selection taken from the
mountain rocks containing iron. This weapon decoration in the form of hornbill feathers
or human hair, placed in the upstream of Mandau and made of horn or wood.
Traditional Costume
Pakaian Adat Dayak is the traditional costume of East
Kalimanatan. Men is wearing a sleeveless vest and knee-length cloth wrapped. Head
man wearing some sort of hat decorated with bird feathers. Women ear a sleeveless
vest and short skirts. The vest was there some kind of pattern typical of
Borneo. While his head wearing a hat with a unique decoration.
