West Papua Province (Indonesian: Provinsi Papua Barat) is a province of Indonesia. It covers the two western peninsulas of the island of New Guinea. Its capital is Manokwari, although the largest city is Sorong, and the 2010 census recorded a population of 760,855 the latest official estimate (as at January 2014) is 877,437.West Papua Province was created from the western portion of Papua (province) in February 2003, initially under the name of West Irian Jaya' (Indonesian: Irian Jaya Barat); it received its current name in 2007. The province covers the Bird's Head (Doberai) and Bomberai peninsulas and the surrounding islands of Raja Ampat. With a population of 877,437 in 2014, it is the least populous province of Indonesia except for the newly created province of North Kalimantan.

1. Archeological sites Tapurarang

Sites are located in Disrik Coke , West Papua , is a relic of prehistoric times . The site is in the form of a painting of human hands and animals at a very steep rock cliffs . Prehistoric paintings contained in this cliff can be found in Andamata , Fior , Forir , Darembang and Goras . Which makes this site so very interesting is the fact that despite hundreds of years old , paintings made with dyes from natural materials are still visible to this day . The red color in the painting of this cliff resembles the color of human blood so that local people call it a hand stamp painting blood .

2. Raja Ampat

The beauty of the underwater world in the area of Raja Ampat is very global. Of the approximately 610 small islands in the area , only 35 islands are inhabited by people . Coral reefs in the waters of Raja Ampat is rated as the most comprehensive in the world because of the 537 known coral species in the world, 75 percent were in these waters . In addition , there are at least 1,104 species of fish , 669 species of mollusc and 537 species of coral animals that exist throughout the territorial waters .

3. Meja Mountain , Manokwari

Nature Park ( TWA ) Table Mountain is located in downtown Manokwari . This place has a primary function for tourism and outdoor recreation , protection of life support systems and the preservation of diversity of plants , animals and natural uniqueness . In this place you can do activities trekking , hiking and others . Your eyes will be spoiled by tropical forest flora is very diverse and has a unique shape . This place is believed to have hundreds of species of trees , dozens of species of shrubs , bushes , lianas and nails as well as herbs . In addition , a dozen species of orchids and several species of palm and rattan also live here .To reach this place , you can ride motorcycle from Manokwari city center with fare Rp10,000.00 - Rp15.000,00 . The journey to this place was pretty feast for the eyes as you can see the city of Manokwari and Gulf Doreri sticking through the trees .

4. Teluk Wondama, Cendrawasih

Besides Raja Ampat, this place also has very global among lovers of the underwater world, especially lovers of diving activities. This place is the largest marine national park in Indonesia is 89.8% of its territory is ocean waters. There are about 209 species of fish that inhabit this region. Among them are butterflyfish, angelfish, damselfish, parrotfish, rabbitfish and anemone. West Papua or formerly called Irian Jaya Barat (West Irian Jaya) is a province of the Republic of Indonesia which is located in the western part of New Guinea and its capital Manokwari. This province territory covers the bird's head region of the island of Papua and the islands around it. In the north, the province is bordered by the Pacific Ocean and to the west by the province of North Maluku and Maluku province, the eastern part bounded by the Gulf of Paradise, the southern part of the Seram Sea and the southeastern borders with Papua province.West Papua custom home founded by Arfak, the main tribe in West Papua. This custom home is called Mod Aki Aksa (Lgkojei) which means that the house centipede. Traditional Costume

Serui

Custom clothing in West Papua called Serui . Not much different from the traditional clothing in Papua , form almost the same clothes for both men and women . Models cover his lower body as well as the same . They were wearing body armor and cover the bottom with the same shape . Ornate chest and head as well they wear a necklace , bracelet , ornate birds of paradise in the head shines the others. Is a new creature depicted in the form of clothes .
