South Sulawesi
South Sulawesi (Indonesian: Sulawesi Selatan) is a province of Indonesia. It is mostly located on the southern peninsula of Sulawesi. The Selayar Islands archipelago forms part of the province.The 2010 census recorded the province's population as 8,032,551 – making it the most populated province in Sulawesi (46% of the population of Sulawesi is in South Sulawesi), and the sixth most populated in Indonesia. Its capital, Makassar, is a major regional centre and the largest city on the island; it is situated on the western side of Sulawesi's southern peninsula.

1. Losari Beach
Losari Beach is a beach located on the west of the city of Makassar . The beach is a place for residents outside of Makassar Makassar and so was the tourists who come to visit the city of Makassar , they came to spend time in the morning , afternoon and evening enjoying the scenery very beautiful sunset.
2. Samalona Island
One of the most beautiful islands that Indonesia is Samalona Island. The island is located in the eastern region of Indonesia, precisely in the area of government administration of Makassar, South Sulawesi. Samalona Island is a cluster of round-shaped coral island with an area of 2.34 hectares. This small island is one of the marine tourism destination visited by many tourists local and mancanegera. White sand and clear water makes this island fit for sunbathing. In addition, the island is a great area also for diving (diving), because there are corals surrounding sea inhabited by diverse tropical fish
colorful, and other marine biota.The best time to tour the island Samalona is from February to October . This island save a million mysteries about the sinking of a ship from World War II. 3. Parangloe Underwater
the most beautiful waterfalls in South Sulawesi region because it has the characteristics of a waterfall which is terraced with stone suckler attractive and clear water . Tongkonan
Tongkonan is a traditional house of Toraja society . The roof is curved to resemble a boat , consisting of bamboo structure ( currently partially tongkonan using a tin roof ) . On the front there is a row of buffalo horn . The inside of the room used as a bed and a kitchen . Tongkonan used also as a place to store the bodies . Tongkonan derived from the word tongkon ( meaning seated together ) . Tongkonan divided by level or role in society ( social stara Society Toraja ) . In front there tongkonan granary , called ' grass ' . Granary poles are made from the trunk of a palm tree ( Bangah ) today partly already casted . At the front of the barn there is a variety of carvings , including pictorial chicken and sun , a symbol to resolve the case .
Traditional Dances
Kipas Pakarena Dance
is a dance which originated from Gowa , South Sulawesi . Pakarena word itself comes from the local language because that means playing . This dance is a tradition among communities Gowa who still maintained until today . Gowa society itself is the people who live in the former kingdom of Gowa power . Gowa empire stood around the 16th century and reached its heyday in the 18th century and then suffered a collapse on the century as well . All parts of South Sulawesi is a region of Gowa royal power so that indigenous people living in the area known as the public Gowa . Gowa royal hegemony that lasted centuries of cultural patterns also influence society Gowa . Fan Dance Pakarena is one proof of the power of tradition Gowa who still believed and maintained as cultural heritage is priceless .
Traditional Costume
Bodo Gesung
Makassar, Mandar and Bugis ( Sulawesi Salatan ) , has one of the products of the proud culture and has become an icon of the province of South Sulawesi , namely Baju Bodo . Bodo Gesung is another name of Baju Bodo . Bodo Gesung itself means a short -sleeved shirt and menggelembun because on the back ballooned . 1. Talindo or Popondi
Popondi/Talindo musical instrument or is made of wood , coconut shells , and strings . Talindo / Popondi a stringed musical instrument of the zither type ( one- stringed stick zilher ) . Coconut shell serves as a resonator . This instrument is played singly after the farmers celebrate the harvest and to fill the leisure time for adolescents .
Tolindo word is a name derived from the Bugis area . While the word Popondi is the designation of the area of Makassar .Traditional musical instruments Talindo / Popondi arc shaped like buffalo horns or horn cow resting on a coconut shell , at the top end mounted 1 piece horn section and strings played by plucking.
2. Gesok - Gesok
Traditional musical instruments of South Sulawesi further still is a musical instrument with strings elements / strings known as Gesok - Gesok . This instrument is made of wood and animal skin .
