Jambi

  

Jambi is a province of Indonesia, located on the east coast in the center of the island of Sumatra. The area is about 244.477 km². Jambi province boundaries, are: The north, Riau Province. On the east of the Strait of Berhala. South side bordering the province of South Sumatra. And on the west is the province of West Sumatra and Bengkulu. The capital of Jambi is Jambi.

Tourism Site

There are so many nice places to visit in Jambi. For example like, Danau Kerinci, Taman Anggrek, Goa Alam Toangko, Candi Muara Jambi, Air Panas Bumi, Danau Sipin, Taman Mayang Manggurai, Goa Alam Tingkap, Taman rimba, Danau Ladeh Panjang, Batu Bertulis Karang Birahi, Taman Nasional, Berbak and Taman Nasional Kerinci.

Traditional dance

Sekapur Sirih is one of the traditional dance in Jambi. The dance is soft and smooth collaboration with music and great poetry. And this dance is a dance of welcome to the guests great in Jambi province.

Traditional House

Panggung Kajang Lako is the traditional house of Jambi. This  house form is rectangular. Its uniqueness lies in the structure construction and art carvings that adorn the building. In the ceiling of the house there called stocking screen that serves as the upper chamber cover walls and retaining rainwater seepage. Meanwhile, there is a space between the roof panel stocking, which functioned as a place to store unused things.

Traditional Weapon

One of the traditional weapon in Jambi is Badik Tumbuk Lada. This weapon shaped like a dagger belonging Bugis society. However it has a straight handle. In addition to hunting weapons also used for war.

Traditional Costume

The traditional costume of Jambi is Pakaian Adat Jambi. A man is wearing track on his head. Track is a headdress made of red velvet. Traditional clothing of men, in the form of a long-sleeved shirt brackets. Subordinates dress slacks with a dress the same color. In a typical cloth wrapped waist Jambi. And a woman is wearing sarongs and scarves songket red. The patterned shirt jasmine flower decoration, flower tagapo and bamboo shoots.
