DI YOGYAKARTA
The Special
Region of Yogyakarta: Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, or DIY) is a
region of Indonesia on the island of Java. The city of Yogyakarta is the
capital of the region.Yogyakarta is historically and culturally part of the
Central Java region, although it is now a separate administrative entity. It is
the only region in Indonesia that is still governed by a pre-colonial monarchy,
the Sultan of Yogyakarta, who serves as the hereditary governor of the region.
Other than the special capital territory of Jakarta, it is the smallest region
of Indonesia.In Javanese it is pronounced [joɡjaˈkartɔ],
and named after the city of Ayodhya in Javanese-Hindu mythology.The Dutch name
of the Special Region is Djokjakarta.
Tourism site
Yogyakarta have some tourism site, such
as Keraton Jogjakarta, Pantai Parang
Tritis, Istana Air Taman Sari, Pantai Baron, Pantai Krakal, Pantai Kukup,Goa
Kiskendo, Kota Gede, Kali Urang, Candi Prambanan, Monumen Pangeran Diponegoro
(Sasana Wiratama), Waduk Sermo. I would like to tell you about Candi Prambanan.
Candi Prambanan
Candi Prambanan or Candi Rara Jonggrang is a 9th-century Hindu
temple compound in Central Java, Indonesia, dedicated to the Trimurti, the
expression of God as the Creator (Brahma), the Preserver (Vishnu) and the
Destroyer (Shiva). The temple compound is located approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) northeast of
the city of Yogyakarta on the boundary between Central Java and Yogyakarta
provinces.
The temple compound, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest Hindu
temple site in Indonesia, and one of the biggest in Southeast Asia. It is
characterized by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu temple
architecture, and by the towering 47-metre-high (154 ft) central building
inside a large complex of individual temples. Prambanan attracts many visitors from across
the world.
Traditional house
Yogyakarta have the same traditional
house named Joglo but they have the different in design .
Joglo
Simply , there is a
special section in Joglo is a pavilion , Sentong , courtiers , and pawon . The
pavilion is the living room or the main room which is used to receive guests .
Sentong means the room , there are usually three . While the palace is a
gathering place for families . Meanwhile , pawon means kitchen , whose function
is also not much different from the kitchen in general .
Traditional dances
Yogyakarta have some traditional dances like Tari Serimpi Sangupati, Tari Bedaya.
Tari Serimpi Sangupati
Now, I will tell you about Tari Serimpi Sangupati. Serimpi dance is a type of dance performed
by four daughters , each of which claims the title of ar , fire , wind , and earth / ground .
They symbolize the process of humans also symbolize the four directions of the compass .
Traditional costume
Yogyakarta have traditional costume named Pakaian Adat Jogja.
Men : Clothing everyday for men is to wear clothes that dipadan surjan with subordinate batik
wear stagen fastened at the waist and wearing a headband or blangkon as headgear
Women : traditional clothing worn for a woman is wearing kebaya batik cloth dipadan with
dikencangkang with stagen at the waist . While ordinary woman's hair rolled Yogya .
Traidional weapons

Same with Central Java , kris also a
traditional weapon of Yogyakarta . Keris is a dagger stabbing weapon classes (
sharp pointed and sharp on both sides ) The shape is distinctive and easily
