Hello everybody, I wanna tell you about Riau in this posting. Sooo, here it is the posting about Riau...

Riau




Riau is a province of Indonesia, located in the central part of the island of Sumatra. The province is located in the central part of the east coast of the island of Sumatra, which is along the coast of the Strait of Malacca. The area is about 94.561 km². Riau in the north bordering the Riau Islands and the Strait of Malacca, on the south by the province of Jambi and the Strait of idols, on the east by the South China Ocean and on the west by the province of West Sumatra and North Sumatra. And the capital of Riau is Pekanbaru.

Riau has so many good places to visit such as, Candi Muara Takus, Batu Pantai Nongsa, Komplek Istana Kerajaan Siak, , Pantai Pasir Panjang (Pantai Trikora), Suaka Alam Kerumutan, Pantai Tanjung Pesona, Semenanjung Senggarai and Taman Laut.

Traditional Dance

Riau have some traditional dances such as, Tari Joged Lambak, Pedang Jenawi, Tari Pembubung, Tari Sinar, Tari Lenggang Melayu, Tari Zapin Sekampung, Tari Zapin, Tari Zapin Kampung Melayu Pekan Baru, Tari RiuhTambourine. But Tari Joged Lambak is one of popular traditional dance in Riau, it’s a social dance of young people who are very popular and unpopular. This dance can also serve as entertainment. When dancing, the dancers will dance with each other in accordance with the rhythm of the music.

Traditional House

Rumah Selaso Jatuh Kembar is the traditional house of Riau. It is rectangular shaped stage. At the peak of the roof there is always a wooden ornaments sticking up cross. The house is also often used for meetings or deliberations.

Traditional Weapon

The popular traditional weapon of Riau is Pedang Jenawi. Typically, it is used by warlords. The length of this sword can reach one meter and at the end of the handle there is a small protrusion.

Traditional Costume

Teluk Belanga is the traditional costume of Riau. A man is wearing a tight brackets ferret, which is equipped with a cap. Underneath wear long pants in the same color clothes. In addition to the waist wearing cloths made of woven and motifs characteristic of Malay culture. And a woman is wearing kebaya anchor brackets and parentheses clothes bay pot. There are some traditional music instruments from Riau such as, Gambus (sound source : Kordofon, learned by using the fingers, and play tone with fingers), Rebana, Saluang and Talempong
